wow, thinking about THAT song brings back memories. Why I'm Doing This. . .Why This Means So Much. . .

It wasn't until somewhat later in life, probably college even more than high school, when I was exposed to a more expansive demographic of people from various types of upbringing, did I realize just how much homophobia and discrimination towards gays existed actively in our country. Why am I here? Why, when I have all the rights I could need and want? Because I would not be here if a gay man hadn't noticed my dad in the military in the seventies, and if that man had not been friends with my mother.
