Coming Out Resources

As a youth LGBT organization, we definitely get our share of questions about coming out.  We realize that the decision to come out (or not) is highly individual and a number of factors (including family acceptance, economic resources, community support, etc) are involved.  The common feature of all these decisions is that they require some degree of communication--someone to talk to, in other words.  That "someone" can be online or in person or on the phone or in a book, but it always helps…

I came out !

So early this morning @ about 6 is when I decided to climb in bed with my grandma. I started by telling her that i loved her and I thanked her for all she has done for me. All my life she has been there for me and since the age of 13 she as raised my along with my 11 year old brother and my 4 year old sisters. In The Closet

So I have known I was gay at the age of 8 years old. When I found myself falling in love with one of the girls on my softball team (Delilah Gentry who i come to find out years later she is gay also). I am still in the closet. Why? Is what my friends often ask me. Well I am a Hispanic and my culture is not really ok with gay. Not to mention that I am also Catholic, and oh on top of that I live in a small town where being openly gay is not ok ether. I find my self wondering what would my life be… Continue
